Cleaning Reminders

  • If we have a mobile number on file, then you will receive an automated text message the night before a window clean is due. Please note, this service is intended to provide customers the opportunity to unlock access to the rear of properties and a general courtesy to let you know to expect us the next day.

  • Should you need to cancel window cleaning or perhaps postpone (for example, due to building work) then we request you provide us as much notice as possible using any of the above mentioned forms of communication. This will allow us to effectively re-plan our round and because the cleaning reminders can go out to 20 people at one time then more notice will ensure we do not miss your message and accidentally turn up at your property.

Cleaning methods

  • Primarily, the water fed pole is the main method for cleaning external windows and uPVC. This is for a few reason; to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and Working at Height regulations which state that no more than 30 minutes per day should be spent working from a ladder. This is because ladders are mainly designed to access somewhere and not to be used as a working platform. With that said, we will occasionally use step ladders and platform ladders where necessary, however the water fed pole keeps us planted safely on the ground cleaning the majority of windows.

  • In our water fed poles, we use 100% pure de-ionised water to clean your windows. Tap water in West Yorkshire has an average TDS (total dissolved solids) of around 150 parts per million. This is a measurement of the amount of impurities found in water which when used to clean windows will leave spots and streaks. Our pure water has 0 parts per million of impurities, meaning it will clean your windows and leave them perfectly spot free. If you have ever had previous windows cleaners using the water fed pole method and they left spots behind after the windows had dried, this is usually because the water had not been sufficiently purified.

  • We will occasionally use traditional methods to clean windows where this is either safer or quicker to do so, however the water fed pole method allows far superior cleaning of PVC window frames and sills, so this is our preferred method. If you ever request an internal window clean, that will be done with traditional tools.

Cleaning in the rain

  • We will generally continue to work in light rain. One of the advantages of the water fed pole method versus the traditional methods is that windows just cleaned will generally stay clean under light rain. However, we will most likely postpone any work during heavy rain.

Payment methods

First cleans

  • Depending on the condition of the windows and when they were last cleaned, it may take more than one window cleaning session to get them back to looking like new. It is of course possible to do this in one session however there is an additional charge for this, which varies depending on the condition of the windows but is usually 100% extra. Unless the customer specifically requests this, we shall not incur any additional charges.

Ladder Risk

  • We use a mix of traditional and water fed pole window cleaning methods, however to do our best to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and Working at height Regulations we avoid the use of ladders as much as we can, as the regulations recommend no more than 30 minutes is spent using a ladder.

  • We do not accept liability for damage caused by decorative or structural defects at your property, such as but not limited to, doors, fascias, guttering, window/conservatory trims, unsecured windows and doors, leaking seals, loose stuck on lead, decorative bars stuck on glass, rotting frames, flaking paint, open/broken vents etc.
